Recently, FORZA team visited the Zacharovany Krai National Park to present and test the TRESTIMA tool developed in Finland, which can be used to quickly and accurately collect data on the forest stand.
TRESTIMA is an innovative forest inventory system that combines mobile technology and image analysis to collect forest stand data quickly, accurately and efficiently, https://www.trestima.com
Even before the meeting, we translated the user manual and interface into Ukrainian, which made it much easier for park representatives to use.
As always at our events, theory went hand in hand with practice. So we made a presentation of TRESTIMA to the employees of the scientific department, the department of use, reproduction and protection of natural ecosystems, and the state protection service of the NNP, told them about the mobile application, showed the functions and capabilities of this digital tool, and discussed how it could be useful for the NNP.
We started testing the tool right next to the park's administrative building, where the participants tried to take photos of the stand with their smartphones, based on which the AI analyzes and generates data. Later, we worked in the forest, in the permanent test area No. 2, where the participants completed practical test tasks.
At the end of the practical part, they shared their impressions, in particular, about the need to calibrate the tool and the importance of a training video or advice from the developer on certain components of the program.
Thank you all for your participation and let's move on!
