Curriculum Recognition in the CirCLER Project

The Institute of the Republic of Slovenia for Vocational Education and Training (CPI) has prepared a structured work plan enabling partners to follow a unified approach when developing national Recognition Pathways. These drafts include concise overviews of legislation, national qualification frameworks, rules for recognising non-formal learning and micro-credentials, as well as other mechanisms relevant to integrating CETM into national VET systems.
Partners are currently completing these drafts and identifying the most suitable routes for recognition, such as:
– recognition of non-formal learning,
– additional qualifications,
– integration into existing VET programmes,
– validation of prior learning,
– credit transfer or inter-institutional recognition.

A key outcome of the task will be the development of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), prepared by CPI in cooperation with partners. The MoU will establish a framework for mutual recognition of CETM micro-credentials by defining shared standards: common learning outcomes, a unified assessment system, issuing of European Digital Credentials (EDC), and recognition of learning achievements between institutions. The agreement will also make it possible for external VET providers across Europe to join after the project ends. Based on national inputs, CPI will prepare Recognition Guidelines that compare recognition mechanisms across countries and support long-term integration of CETM micro-credentials into European VET systems.
These developments significantly strengthen the potential for future circular economy professionals to have their knowledge recognised across borders and applied in both formal and non-formal learning environments — one of the central ambitions of the CirCLER project.
