From regulation to action: advancing through Modules 2 and 3 of the CirCLER Training Course

The CirCLER Training Course begins with a deep dive into EU sustainability regulation, ensuring that learners first gain a solid understanding of the rules shaping Europe’s transition to a circular economy.

Module 2 (M2) explores the main regulatory frameworks driving this shift, including sustainable finance and ESG requirements (CSRD and Taxonomy), the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation, Extended Producer Responsibility and waste legislation, the EU Deforestation Regulation, and chemical compliance relevant to the furniture sector. Together, these elements equip learners with the knowledge needed to navigate obligations, ensure compliance, and design strategies aligned with Europe’s evolving regulatory environment.

Building on this foundation, Module 3 (M3) focuses on voluntary environmental certifications and tools at company and product level. Learners examine environmental attributes across organisational, manufacturing, product, and distribution levels, understanding how these insights contribute to stronger sustainability strategies and enhanced market positioning.

By combining regulatory understanding with practical communication tools, Module 3 enables professionals to effectively leverage environmental attributes and certifications to enhance transparency, avoid greenwashing, support ESG strategies, and strengthen competitiveness in increasingly sustainability-driven markets.
