Lessons Learned from the CirCLER Mentors’ Club

The CirCLER pilot phase has now been completed, and one thing became very clear: trainers also need a space to learn from each other.

That is exactly what the CirCLER Mentors’ Club supported between December 2025 and March 2026. It brought together 21 trainers from across Europe to exchange experiences while the CETM course was running in real time.

The Mentors’ Club became a place where trainers could openly compare what worked best in different countries and learning environments.

One recurring topic was learner participation. Tutors noticed that forums became more active when mentors took the first step and initiated discussion.

Instead of waiting for questions, tutors began posting short prompts in forums. The effect was immediate, especially in Spanish and Italian groups, where engagement increased once discussions were tied to real, practical situations.

Another active line of discussion in the Mentors’ Club concerned learning levels. Some learners wanted to upgrade or downgrade their level during the course, which led tutors to reflect together on how flexible the system should be and how to communicate level changes without losing learning continuity.

At the same time, tutors shared external resources and teaching materials, including complementary tools from other circular economy initiatives. This helped extend the course beyond its own boundaries and enrich the teaching practice.

Even small contributions proved valuable. A forum prompt tested in one country could help another tutor improve learner interaction elsewhere.

The CETM pilot reached 856 learners across 14 countries. But behind that number was a continuous layer of tutor collaboration — small decisions, quick fixes, and shared reflections happening in parallel with learning.

The Mentors’ Club will continue until December 2026, keeping this space open for trainers working on circular economy education in the furniture sector.
