DRWO4.0 at the 13th EUSDR Annual Forum

In June we had an opportunity to take part in the 11th Danube Participation Day and 13th EUSDR Annual Forum, held in Vienna.
Taking this chance, we presented our vision of the sustainable recovery in Ukraine, conditions and risks of failure, namely: lack of time and resources for proper preparation and implementation of recovery measures; lack of interest of local players in the recovery actions, which limits consideration of sustainablity in the future recovery processes, and, however we would like to avoid the third riks, but it exists, - corruption, which significantly limits development at the level of communities and sometimes even oblasts in Ukraine.
Regarding activities to prevent such risks, these fall into the following groups: а) setting up clear rules and requirements on the green recovery, with integration of circular economy principles and approaches, renewable materials, etc, and which would be defined by legal documenst, including international agreements, which foresee financing of the recovery processes; b) training and other educational activities for architects, construction engineers, project engineers and project managers on the principles of New European Bauhaus, considerations of the circular economy requirments in the recovery and rebuilding projects etc.; c) projects and initiatives from outside and from inside aimed at strengthening integrity and corruption prevention.
During the panel discussion we presented DRWO4.0 project, as an example of partnership building and stakeholder involvement to the innovation actions on the transition of wood industry in Danube Region towards Industry 4.0. Despite the fact that Ukraine today faces many issues, related to the ongoing war, business and civil society in the country is trying to move on, develop and improve standards of work, introduce innovations with the purpose to approximate towards EU standards and requirments.
At the best practices exhibition we had a poster, which displayed several ongoing projects and topics of collaboration, among which DRWO4.0 project was presented and promo-materials were distributed.
